Free and total SO2 extraction apparatus by oxidation-suction, according to the official OIV / CE method.

SO2 is distilled (extracted) with gas in acidic air or nitrogen medium. It is converted to sulfuric acid in an oxidative solution of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) where it is converted to sulfuric acid, then analyzed by acidimetry.

Free SO2 is extracted without cold heating, while total SO2 is extracted after the sample is heated.
